I DONT BELIEVE SO,,,
Gangrene is the death of tissue, usually associated with loss of blood supply to the area affected and then followed by an bacterial infection.
Gangrene results from an infection caused by clostridia and sometimes by other bacteria. Clostridia is a type of bacteria called anaerobic bacteria, which grow only in the absence of oxygen.
The skin at the area affected at 1st will look pale then a red to bronzy color will appear then a green tint into gangrene. The skin is swollen and warm to the touch, the infection can spread extensively under the skin, often producing large fluid filled blisters(bullae)The fluid from these blisters is a darker brown and smells foul, nasty, a rotten smell to it.
If its gangrene a health care provider will scrip some antibiotics that destroy a wide spectrum of bacterica. In addition a health care provider may need to surgically remove destroyed tissue.Sometimes especially with poor circulation part or all of a limb is amputated to prevent the spread of the infection.
High pressure oxygen therapy may be useful (hypebaric) to treat extensive skin gangrene. This could cause death
Many different bacteria and yeast give off distinct odors. Gangrene typically has an odor that smells like wet animal fur or a dead animal, but the odors vary with the type of bacteria causing the infection. I dont know what bacteria causes an almond odor, but its sort of irrelevant if a wound is giving off an odor its seriously infected.
