my source says that silt ranges from 10^-9 to 10^-5 m/sec and and sandstone ranges from 10^-10 to 10^-6 m/s. This gives silt a slightly higher range of permeabilities. I cant believe they would ask this question. Are you sure it isnt sand, silt, or clay If this is the case the answer would be sand.
