Paint Tool Sai help. I cant draw on layers [Solved]

So I just started using Sai yesterday. Everything was running smoothly. I saved the drawing for the day and went to bed. Now I started it up again but for some reason I cant paint on previous layers. Only new layers. Whats going on How can I fix this

What I think is happening and what was happening to me is that your select tool is still on. What I did was press CTRL D to delete the selection and I could paint again.
