# what does this mean 1000!/999! [Solved]

Im not a 100 percent sure, but the ! sign means the product of all consecutive numbers after it.
For example: 5! = 5x4x3x2x1 and 10! = 10x9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1.
Now 1000! is a huuuuuuge number and a calculator cant handle it. Theres an easy way to complete this.
1000! = 1000x999x998x997x996all the way up to x3x2x1.
And
999! = 999x998x997x996.all the way up to x3x2x1
So basically 1000! = 1000999!. When dividing 1000! by 999! the two 999!s cancel each other out leaving you with 1000. So the answer is 1000

! is a symbol for factorial. It means that you multiply that number with every whole number smaller than it down to 1. For example your problem means:
(1000 * 999 * 998) / (999 * 998 * 997)
No calculator will be able to do this for you because the numbers get too big. Using some logic you can see that almost everything cancels out leaving you with 1000.

4! = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24
8! = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x.. etc.

4! = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24
8! = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x.. etc.

1000 factorial divided by 999 factorial.

Dunno

4! = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24
8! = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x.. etc.

ITS UNDER 9000! >:O

1000!/999! = (1000 * 999!)/999! = 1000

Factorials: 5! = 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1
Knowing this,
1000! = 1000 * 999!

4! = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24
8! = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x.. etc.

The exclamation mark means to take the factorial.
