ok it is possible that it will adhere right but there is a good possibility it wont my suggestion is that u do remove the caulk and start overumm u can remove it with a caulk removing tool sold at your local hardware storebefore you apply the new caulk i would suggest you clean the surface with rubbing alcoholand since you cannot predict weather i would put somt sort of plastic over it(make sure it does not touch to caulk)
